Ingredients
rice flour-1 glass
cooked rice-2 tbsp
salt
water
jaggerry-2-3
baking soda-1/4 tsp
cardamom powder
oil-2 tbsp
coconut pieces-2 tbsp
shallots
Preparation
Take a mixie jar, add rice flour, salt, cooked rice and enough water, then grind it to fine batter, then pour it to a bowl, add jaggerry juice, baking soda and cardamom powder into it, mix well. Heat oil in a cooker, add coconut pieces and chopped shallots, roast it well, then pour the batter, cover the cooker, keep the flame low and cook it about 15 minutes without whistle, kalathappam is ready.
