Hotel style velleppam

Ingredients

2 cups white rice

1 cup Grated coconut

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 tsp yeast

salt

2 tablespoon sugar

water as needed for grinding

for kappi

1/4 cup + 2 tbsp rice flour

2 cup water

Preparation

Soak rice in hot water for 4-6 hrs. Add rice flour to a pot, add water too. then cook it well, stir continously, once it become thick , turn off flame. Grind soaked rice with water and kappi, and make a smooth paste, grind coconut with yiest, and mix with the batter, after mixing well, rest the batter for 8 hrs. Add salt , baking soda, and sugar, mix well, now you can make perfect velleppam.
