Ingredients
tuvar dal-1/2 cup
tomato-2
tamarind-lemon size
water-4 cup
uduppi rasam powder-2 1/2 tbsp
green chilly-2
turmeric-1/4 tsp
jaggerry-1 tbsp
salt
mustards-1/2 tsp
urad dal-1/2 tsp
red chilly-2
curry leaves, curiander leaves,oil,ghee
for rasam podi
dry red chilly-8
coriander seeds-2 tbsp
cumin-1/2 tsp
mustards-1/2 tsp
fenugreek-1/4 tsp
curry leaves-1 string
coconut-1 1/2 tbsp
hing-1/2 tsp
Preparation
For rasam podi, dry roast all ingredients, then grind all together into fine powder.
For rasam, cook dal with,tomato, green chilly,and water in a cooker. Then add tamarind juice, turmeric,jaggerry, rasam powder and salt, boil it well. Heat oil in a pan, splutter mustards, roast urad dal and dry red chilly, roast it well and add to rasam, finally add some coriander leaves and curry leaves.
