Ration rice idli
Ingredients
rice-4 cups
raw rice-1 cup
cooked rice-1 cup
fenugreek-1 tsp
Preparation:
The urad dal is soaked for three to four hours, and the ration rice is soaked after washing it several times . The urad dal is ground first with some fenugreek seeds , using the water that was used for soaking. Then the rice is ground , and a cup of cooked rice is added . The ground urad dal is then mixed with the rice batter.The batter is left to ferment. The creator grinds the batter in the afternoon and keeps some outside and the rest in the fridge. The batter that is kept outside is used the next morning.
The fermented batter is mixed with saltand then steamed in an idli maker for 10 minutes . The video emphasizes that the idlis should be allowed to cool slightly before removing them from the mold to prevent them from sticking . The idlis are served with sambar.
The same batter can be used to make dosas by adding a little more water.
