Kannur Special Kinnathorotti
raw rice-1 cup
coconut-1/2 cup
cooked rice-1/4 cup
cumin-1/2 tsp
fennel-3/4 tsp
shallots-6
salt
chilly powder
turmeric
water and salt
Preparation
Soak rice for 4 hrs, then grind it with cumin, fennel, coconut, shallots, cooked rice and a little water, make a smooth paste, add water to adjust the consistency to little loose. Take a plate, apply oil, then pour the batter, then steam it about 20 minutes. Prepare a mixture of salt, turmeric, chilly powder and water. Cooked orotti should be cut to pieces, then coat the masala, then shallow fry it.
