Ingredients for spicy
rice flour idiyappam/ pathiri podi
– chilly powder
– turmeric powder
– pepper powder
– cumin seeds
– black sesame seeds
– acefoetida powder
For non spicy
-rice flour
– black sesame seeds
– carom seeds(ajwain)
– asefoetida powder
Preparation
Mix the rice powder, Kashmiri chili powder, ground black pepper, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, and black sesame seeds in a bowl.Add hot water and knead well to make a soft dough.Grease a murukku mold with oil.Fill the mold with the dough and press it out onto a banana leaf.Heat sunflower oil in a pan. Once the oil is hot, deep fry the murukku until golden brown. Drain the murukku on a tissue paper to remove excess oil.

Mix the rice powder, caraway seeds, and a little bit of salt in a bowl.Follow the same steps as above for making spicy murukku.
