Ragi is a powerhouse of nutrients like calcium, magnesium, iron, sodium and potassium. It has more nutritional value than wheat flour and plain white rice. Finger ragi contains the highest amount of calcium which helps in increasing the strength of bones. Ragi is good for diabetics and those who want to lose weight.

Ingredients

Ragi – 1 cup
Mutira – 1/4 cup
Fenugreek – 1 tbsp
Rice – 1/2 cup
Salt – to taste

How to prepare

After washing the ragi, mudira and fenugreek seeds well, add the rice and let it simmer for 5 hours.

•After 5 hours, take a jar of the mix and add the soaked ragi, mudira, fenugreek seeds and salt to it and grind it well and leave it to rise for 8 hours.

• After 8 hours, mix the flour that has risen well and then bake the idli. Serve hot with chutney.
