A sweet snack recipe…
Ingredients
2 cups besan flour (kadalamavu)
1 tbsp ghee
Salt
Oil – for frying
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
1 tsp cardamom powder
Preparation
First, prepare a dough with gram flour, salt, ghee and water. Take idiyappam maker, put large holed mould, apply oil inside to prevent sticking, then fill the dough. Heat oil for deep frying, press the dough into the hot oil, fry it until it become slightly brown, then keep it in a plate. Add sugar and 1/4 cup of water and cardamom powder to a pan, boil it until the syrup turn one string consistency, then add the snack to the syrup and coat it well, wait until it become cool enough, then store it in an air tight container.
