Ulli Vada are crispy and crunchy onion fritters which are popular as a street food snack in Kerala. Since all the ingredients used in this simple, homely preparation are plant-based, this recipe is vegan too.

Ingredients

Ginger

Green chilly

Onion-4

Maida-2 1/2 tbsp

Gram flour-2 tbsp

Salt

Fennel-1/2 tsp

Kashmiri chilly powder

Turmeric

Oil for frying

Preparation

Slice onion into thin long pieces, add salt into it, mix it with your fingerl, then keep this aside. After a few minutes, remove excess water, then add chopped green chilly, ginger , curry leaves, salt, turmeric, chilly powder and flours, mix all well. Heat oil for frying, then take small quantity, shape it with your finger, then fry it well.
