Kozhikkodan Halwa

Ingredients

maida- 1/2 kg

water

sugar-1 glass

water

orange essence

coconut oil-1/2 ltr

salt-1 pinch

nuts

white sesame seeds-1 tsp

ghee

Preparation

Add maida flour to a bowl, pour water, knead it well and make soft dough, soak this dough in water for a day, then mix it with your hand and take maida milk, remove the maida waste, rest the milk for 1 day, remove the water above the milk, add more water into it, wait for 1 more day. Next day, take the bowl, remove the clean water above the maida milk, then mix it with a spoon. Heat a bottom thick pan, add sugar and water, once it melts completely add the maida mix, stir well, add food color, and essence, continue stirring, once it starts thicken pour coconut oil, mix it well, next add nuts, ghee and a pinch of salt, dont stop stirring, once it become thick dough consistency , transfer the halwa to a glass container, then set it well, wait for the heat is gone, then cut it.
