* For Dough –

Roasted Rice flour ( Appam/Idiyappam/Pathiri powder ) – 2 cup ( 300 g )

Cumin powder – 2 pinch

Salt – 1 /2 tsp

Coconut oil / Ghee – 2 tsp

Boiled water – 2 to 2 1/2 cup

* For Filling –

Ghee – 1 tbsp

Grated coconut – 2 cup

Flattened rice ( Aval ) – 3 tbsp

Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp

Cumin powder – 1/4 tsp

Jaggery syrup

* For jaggery syrup-

Jaggery – 175 g

Water – 1/4 cup

Preparation

Take rice flour in a bowl, add cumin powder and hot water, mix well, add coconut oil , continue mixing, then knead it well and make a soft dough. Heat ghee in a pan, add coconut , roast it for 2-3 minutes, then pour jaggerry juice, cook until it become dry, add cardamom powder, and cumin powder, next add soaked poha, mix all well, once it become dry turn off flame. Take small quantity of rice dough, make a ball shape, then flatten it in your palms, add filling, then cover it carefully and make a perfect ball shape, when all kozhukkatta is ready steam it well.
