Ivy gourd peera

Ingredients

Kovakka/Ivygourd – 20 numbers

Grated coconut – 3/4 th portion of 1 coconut

Shallots – 15 /( Big onion – 1 )

Cocum / Kudampuli – 2 small pieces

Ginger – 1 inch ps

Garlic Big cloves – 2

Greenchilli – 3 or more

Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp

Red chilli powder – 1 tsp or more

Curry leaves

Coconut oil – 2 tbsp

water – 1/2 cup or less than that

Salt

Dried red chilli – 2

Preparation

Heat a claypot, add oil, heat it it well , add dry chilly and curry leaves, mix it well, next add chopped shallots, green chilly, ginger and garlic, saute it well, next add coconut crushed, masala powders, roast it well, now add chopped ivy gourd and salt, mix well, then add tamarind with soaked water, combine all well, cover the pan and cook it until it become soft.
