Ingredients
green gram-1/2 cup
coconut milk thick-1 cup
second extract of coconut milk-2 cup
jaggerry-3/4 cup
cumin-1/2 tsp
cardamom powder-1 tsp
dry ginger powder-1/4 tsp
ghee-1 tbsp
coconut pieces-1 tbsp
cashew-1 tbsp
raisins-1 tbsp
salt-1 pinch
Preparation
Soak green gram overnight or 8 hrs, then wash it well and add it to a cooker, pour water into it, after closing the lid cook it for 1 whistle. Once the pressure is gone open it and boil it again, add grated jaggerry, boil until it melts completely, next add second coconut milk, after boiling it well add thick coconut milk, next add cumin powder, ginger powder and cardamom powder, then heat it well and turn off flame. Heat ghee in a pan, add coconut pieces, roast until it turns brown, then add cashews and raisins, roast it and pour it to the payasam, add a pinch of salt too, mix it well then serve it.
