Ingredients
coriander seeds- 3 tsp
urad dal- 1 1/2 tsp
chana dal- 1 1/2 tsp
cumin-1 tsp
fenugreek-1 tsp
rice-1 tsp
sambar dal-1/2 kg
dry red chilly-10-12
curry leaves-1 handful
turmeric-1 tsp
hing-1 tsp
salt
oil
mustard
curry leaves
Preparation
Heat a pan, add dry red chilly, after roasting it well,keep aside, next add dal, heat it well and set aside, next add other ingredients together, roast it well, then turn off flame. In a mixie jar, add dry red chilly, grind it into fine powder, then add other spices, grind it again, then transfer it to a mixing bowl. Grind dal separately, then mix it with the masala powder, add hing powder and turmeric, mix well, season it with mustard, dry chilly and curry leaves, then let it cool, then store in a air tight container.
For sambar, cook vegetables in a pan, add tamarind water, then add the sambar powder with required water and boil it well, done.
