Papaya as you know is rich in vitamins and we can use it as a vegetable and fruit. Many of us don’t like to eat when it is used as vegetable. Here we prepare in a different way to taste like heaven.
Cut the tender papaya and remove the seeds and skin, cut medium sized pieces and wash it. Add to a bowl, a pinch of salt, little turmeric powder, 1/2 spoon chilly powder and curry leaves. Mix well the papaya pieces in the masala and keep it for about 30 minutes.
Ingredients:
Tomato : 2 medium sliced
Green Chilly : 2
Big onion : 2 medium
Cinnamon stick : 2 pieces
Grated coconut : 1/2 a coconut ( to take milk)
Ginger : 1 piece
Garlic : 10 pieces
Coriander powder : 2 spoon
Kashmiri Chilly : 3 spoon
Turmeric powder : 1/2 spoon
Garam Masala : 1 spoon
Curry leaves and salt to taste.
Add 4 table spoon of oil into a kadai and put cinnamon stick, add onion, green chilly, ginger and garlic, saute well to golden brown.
Add 3 spoon chilly powders little turmeric powder & two spoons of coriander powder, stir well and add sliced tomato. Once tomato turns softer add papaya into it, stir and mix papaya into the masala well. Add coconut milk ( the third extract), stir well and cover the kadai and cook. Open and stir well one or two times, once it becomes a little thick add the coconut milk ( second extract).Again cover cook in medium flame.After the papaya cooked well and the gravy gets thicker add a spoon of garam masala stir well and add coconut milk( first extract) and turn the flame off.
In a fry pan add oil and heat it, add a few sliced shallots, dry chilly and curry leaves once it turns golden brown turn off the flame and add a little chilly powder and stir well, add this to the cooked papaya curry.
The delicious papaya curry is ready now.
