Vattayappam is Kerala’s traditional steamed rice cake recipe which is a must-try for everyone. Made with the goodness of rice, coconut milk and sugar, this lip-smacking recipe will be a treat to your taste buds. What makes it even more tempting is that it is prepared in less oil!
Lets see the recipe
Take 1/2 cup of raw rice , wash it well, then soak for 4 hrs. Add soaked rice to a mixie jar, add 2 tsp sugar, coconut and rice 1/4 cup each, 1/4 cup of toddy, then grind it well and make a smooth batter, keep this aside for overnight. Next morning, add salt to the batter, mix it well. Take a plate, apply oil, then pour the batter, steam it well.
