Learn how to make special rasam using Bilimbi – called in Kerala as Irumban Puli or Irumbikka.
South Indian Rasam is an important part all feasts and also normal lunch menu. Other than with rice, Rasam is also part of the Rasa vada etc. Normal rasam is made of tomato and other spices. Here a special rasam recipe is being shown, using Bilimbi. Bilimbi or irumban puli is usually used to make pickles. But the same one can be used for preparing this special Kerala style rasam !! Try this variation of the South Indian curry and try it with rice and some fish fry !!!
Rasam is also supposed to be good for digestion.
Try making this easy rasam recipe with Bilimbi.
Take some bilimbi, cut it into small pieces. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard to pop, then add dry chilly and curry leaves, after a mix add bilimbi, saute it well until it mash it well, add 1 tsp chilly powder, 1/4 tsp fenugreek, hing, 1 tsp pepper powder, and 1 tsp of coriander powder, mix everything well, now pour tamarind water and 2 more cup water, add salt, let it boil well, add coriander, then turn off flame.
