Ingredients
for rasam powder
tuvar dal ; ½ tbsp
coriander : ½ tbsp
pepper : 1 tsp
cumin : 1 tsp
fenugreek : 1 pinch
curry leaves : 1 string
dry chilly : 3
hing : ¼ tsp
for making rasam
oil-1/2 tbsp
mustard-1/2 tsp
dry chilly-2
garlic-4
cumin 1/2 tsp
tomato-2
curry leaves
turmeric-1/2 tsp
green chilly-1
salt
coriander leaves
ghee-1 tsp
tamarind-gooseberry size
Preparation
For preparing rasam powder, dry roast all ingredients in a pan, then grind it into fine powder after the heat is gone. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard , let it pop well, next add dry chilly, roast it well, then add cumin , garlic and tomato, saute all well, now add tomato, cook it until it become soft, then add turmeric and salt, then add green chilly, cook it another some times, then apour tamarind juice, allow it to boil well, now add more water and rasam powder, boil it well, finally add some coriander leaves, then turn off flame.
